This series is amusing to no end.
This is one of my favorite ongoing comics. The art, humor, and dialogue continue to impress in the fourth volume.
Always a great read!
Severely disappointed in the writing quality. I often found myself thinking "Seriously?? That's what the characters are going with?". I loaned my hard copy to a friend who hadn't read it yet so she wouldn't waste her money. I like the series and I think it has great potential, but I'm definitely going to wait for the reviews when the next issue comes out.
I love this series, but I will have to say this was really lame. I’m all for getting into the meat of the relationship between our main characters but they didn’t even do that right. And the new guy, jeez, what an unlikable jerk. I tried to find some sympathy for him, but it’s was tough for how Matt wrote him. Chip’s art is fantastic as always except for when it wasn’t done by him in one of the issues, which even I think was the worse issue in this series. There was some funny moments to were it was freaking hilarious but this arch was just weak. Not asking for a lot of gross out humor, but to quote another review; DO SOMETHING ALREADY!!!!! I’m starting to feel like Matt Fractions is out of ideas.
After a long hiatus, Sex criminals is finally back. Unfortunately, while the jokes are as funny as ever, those looking for a serious story are going to be more disappointed than ever.As you may remember, the last volume ended with Matt and Suzie's apartment being invaded by the two fellow sex criminals they tried to recruit in Florida. Since it happens on the first page, I have no problem spoiling that apparently those two calmed down off-panel, and have a talk with the duo about how stupid it would be to go after the sex police. Following that, we are treated to the introduction of a new character and the worst issue in this comics history. Past chapter of sex criminals have treated fetishists with respect. The new guy, on the other end, is treated like a massive freak and outcast for his stomping fetish.Meanwhile, this books constant wheel spinning over the characters fighting back against the sex police has reached insane levels. They are still going on and on about how powerless they are against them, despite the fact that we have multiple characters who can, say it with me now, CAN STOP TIME! Instead of anyone doing anything productive for 5 issues, we get a bunch of boring relationship drama.Honestly, if wasn't for Zdarsky art, there would be no reason to look at this book.
Sex Criminals is back and more intense than ever! Wickedly funny, high stakes, and very dramatic with badass fights. 6/5 stars.
