Harrison's translation is easy enough to read, if slightly academic. Each thesis has an introduction by Harrison. While Harrison argues that Mueller's original translation had too congregational of a view of the church, Harrison's could arguably lean too far the other way.Bottom line: If you already have Mueller's translation of this book, don't worry about getting this one. If not, and you want/need Walther's enlightening book, then buy this one. It is worth the price difference.
Not a better book on the market for pastors and their office. Insightful, practical and useful.
This book is wonderfully well written and full of insightful editorial comments; it is a "must-have" for anyone interested in the life of a Lutheran Church.

This updated and fresh look at one of CFW Walther's masterpiece writings is worth every penny. In it, Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison takes the time to explain the nuances of German to English translations. It also corrects the tendency of the translator to insert his own opinions into the translations. A great buy and definitely worth the price for the serious theologian and Christian.
