Review
I now have a new favorite for foundation piecing with patterns I print on my inkjet printer-Carol Doak's Foundation Paper. The paper lies flat in the paper tray, and feeds perfectly. I don't get any bunched up printings. Every sheet feeds individually, resulting in perfect foundations for sewing. And it tears away without any effort-or stress on the stitches. It also allows me to sew sections together without a lot of bulk, which gives me more accurate blocks. (QuiltersReview.com)If you love foundation piecing these papers are without question a MUST! They are fantastic. I had sewn several quilts which are foundation pieced. The first couple I printed my templates out on normal computer paper, oh what a mistake that was. When you tear out that paper it pulls the seams and it is really hard to get it all out. I then got some of Carol Foundation Papers to try, yes they will cost more to use but oh wow the difference, you will wonder why you bothered trying anything else. The paper will print through your normal printer and in most of Carol's books you will find a disk that includes Foundation Factory which has the templates on it so you can just print it straight from the computer onto these foundation paper's (and you can print them out at any size!). They tear out so easily, no pulling on the seam and you get it all out, no little pieces left! (Berrima Patchwork, 09/25/12)

I like this product because it is easy to use.I took her online class then I started to use this .Before I knew this product I used another different kind of paper. It was ok but now I know this product is better.Especially when I need to remove paper after sewing, it is easy to do that.
Perfect for paper piecing quilts. However, beware of sheet count. Pkg paper count stated 100 sheets, but 2 of my packages only contained 95 sheets. Doesn't seem like much but when you order 300 sheets because your pattern requires 300 sheets, it's very disappointing to get only 290.
Apparently not all foundation paper is transparent; this one is opaque. The thing that killed it for me though is the fact it is NOT 8.5"x11", it was 8.25"x11", which I figured out after trying to print the first set of foundation papers. I needed that extra quarter inch for my pattern. It also curled after printing, and a few sheets tore in the printer.Thank you Amazon for taking a return.
I really like this paper. It's easier to tear away when the quilting is done than similar papers. I've tried most papers designed for paper piecing by machine. It's also stronger than many and doesn't fall apart before I'm ready to remove it.The ink stays in this paper and never transfers to my fabric. That's a big plus as after I've gone to all the time and effort it takes to make the block, I don't want the ink bleeding into the fabrics and ruining the block. This paper is easy to see through so that when placing each piece of fabric, it is in the right place and orientation the first time thus cutting down the number of times I have to reposition the fabric. The main thing I use this paper for is foundation piecing; i.e. making the blocks that make up the quilt. I print the design directly onto the paper with my HP inject printer. The other use I've found for this paper is I print my quilting design, i.e. the design for the stitching that holds the layers together. I then pin or spay glue it to the top of the quilt sandwich and use my walking foot to to the actual stitching. The little scraps that I pull off when finished quilting are often used to number my cut fabrics when I'm cutting the pieces to approximate size so that I know, I'm putting the correct fabrics in the proper places in the block. This saves paper and reduces the amount that winds up in the land fills. This is also newsprint style paper, so most municipalities accept in in the bundle of newspapers for recycling. I just fold the scraps inside the newspaper and bundle as usual.
This is my second order for this foundation paper. I love it. It goes through my inkjet printer easily. Then it tears off of my paper-pieced blocks easily, when I am ready for it to. What else can I say? I tried plain printer paper before, this is so much better! I also took Ms. Doak's Craftsy class for paper piecing. With her techniques and her paper, my work turns out perfectly!
carol doak's foundation paper was not what I expected it to be. when I got it was wrinkled in the package. once I got it sorted though to the useable stuff. when I went to print with it the paper just tore. really wished it would have worked. I had a big project in mind.
Apparently this is suppose to run through a printer, the paper jammed while trying to print. My husband suggested taping a piece of the paper to a regular piece of copy paper. That worked, but it is just one more step to getting a copy of the pattern. The product info states that the paper works well for paper piecing, it is difficult to see thru. I was searching for a short cut to tracing all the paper-piecing patterns, but tracing on to traditional tracing paper is worth the time for good results. Would I buy this product again? No.
I did not expect to like this product. I couldn't see any reason not to just use copy paper until I used it for the first time. This paper is much thinner than copy paper. It holds together very well while you are using it, but a simple tug will make it fall apart at the seam lines when you are ready to remove it. It is transparent enough that you can see the stitching lines when you hold the paper up to the light as you are placing the fabric. It folds sharply so you can cut away the excess fabric. Basically it does its job. Recommended
Love this stuff. It does curl when you print so you have to watch it. It does flattens out and I was even able to run it through the printer a second time to make full use of the paper. Only 32 more blocks to go - at 18 pieces each ;(
